Fashion Design

As a fashion design student, I have always been deeply immersed in creating new and creative things. I have learned a variety of design tools, ranging from physically creating things like drawing and sewing to using software such as Illustrator, SketchUp, CAD, and Photoshop. I actively expanded the spectrum of design by integrating these design skills with technologies like 3D printing and gyroscopes.
Concept
I organized a fashion show with a punk theme to express a culture that emerged from the fusion of diverse values.
Role description
As a fashion show planning leader, conducting research on the venue, models, makeup, and overseeing the finances required for the show. I also utilized my musical talents to produce video content and music for the event.
As a fashion designer, I created a total of five pieces of clothing for both men and women in line with the concept, with one of them being selected as the flagship piece.

Description
Using a 3D printer to create the product's frame, combining it with a sturdy structure and felt material. Designed the product's specifications using CAD and completed the product's shape through sewing. To maximize the concept of the product, I illustrated it with colored pencils and created look-book images using Photoshop and Illustrator.

Problem

In 2015, amid a sock trend in Korea, a single major corporation monopolized distribution channels, forcing consumers to use less convenient channels like joining cafes to find the socks they desired.

My goal was to create unique socks to introduce diversity in fashion preferences and break into the market as a new player.
Iteration

Manufacturing adult socks in-house proved costly due to production expenses, operating costs, and minimum production quantity restrictions. It became apparent that it would be challenging to increase market share as a player with these cost constraints.

The target users who could afford high-quality socks at a higher price point were identified as parents wanting the best for their children, friends, and more.

As a solution, we pivoted from adult socks to children's socks in our product category.
