My Journey

 →  →  →  →  →

Violinist
For 14 years, my dream was to become a violinist. However, I realized that following a predetermined path didn't excite me in my life—I realized that what truly sparks me is making the world a better place . Driven by a desire for greater challenges and a passion to address real-world issues, I boldly changed my career path.
Student journalist
Subsequently, I believed that becoming a journalist was my dream—to unearth and address the world's issues. However, for two years as a student journalist, I realized that I was merely a messenger and couldn't address the problems myself.
Fashion Major — Sangmyung University
I wanted to create something practical that could make a difference. That's why I chose to pursue a study in fashion design—a field that spans across materials engineering, creative design, and merchandising. I learned ways to express my ideas with design, approach creative ideas step by step, and break down problems into manageable pieces.
Founder — 4 Startups for Manufacturing, Commerce business
To have a greater impact, I wanted to make practical objects that could add value to the world. That’s why I double majored in business. My understanding of fashion marketing & business prompted me to start 4 startups in college . I gained the startup spirit — iterating ideas again and again, learning from failure, and realizing that success only came when understanding and meeting user needs. 🫱🏽‍🫲🏿
Product Manager — LG Fashion
Realizing the power of online marketing and platform, I joined LG Fashion, Korea’s largest fashion company, to gain more experience in e-commerce platform and business strategy. For 3.5 years, I focused on UX, UI, supply chain management, and user research, adopting a user-centered approach.
Co-founder — Social Impact platform “Mom O’ Clock”
As I saw a platform’s potential to bring about a large impact, I co-founded Mom O' Clock with the vision of empowering moms in order to address women's career gaps from childbirth. Though Mom O’ Clock was successful in that mission, I felt that a large platform was necessary to spread a wave of positive influence that will ripple across society.
Product Manager, Team Leader — Toss
I wanted to tackle nationwide issues and make a bigger impact for everyone. I saw that the common denominator of most problems was money and joined Toss, Korea’s leanest Fintech startup at the time. I've worked with so many interesting people from around the world to make finance and verification more accessible to the public. I’ve pioneered many innovative projects that the world has never seen before and made immense changes to UX. By navigating through uncharted waters as a team, I’ve learned how to aspire others to greatness and encourage them to be part of my vision.

AD ASTRA PER ASPERA!

Now, I wish to expand my reach beyond the application realm and focus on real-world problems. I am especially interested in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence, Ubiquitous Computing, and User research based on Big Data. I wish to combine my creativity, fast execution, and future technical skills to design products that can have a greater impact on the world.
